DIAMOND STILL DREAMING OF HALL OF FAME NOD AFTER 20 YEARS

NEIL DIAMOND is hoping hard work and a little luck will land him in the Rock + Roll Hall of Fame in 2009 after 20 years of snubs.
The Sweet Caroline singer became eligible for the induction honour in 1989 but has yet to join his peers in the Cleveland, Ohio music museum.
But he hopes that will change on the 20th anniversary of his eligibility.
Diamond says, "It just makes me think that maybe I just have to keep doing it... Hopefully I'll get in some day. I'd like to be in there with my peers.
"I've paid my dues, I think, and I think I've done good work."
