DEVITO: 'I WASN'T DRUNK, I WAS JOKING'
LATEST: DANNY DeVITO is speaking out about his recent boozing controversy, insisting he wasn't drunk when he appeared on US TV show THE VIEW.
Speaking about the appearance publicly for the first time last night (11DEC06), the pint-sized star told movie executive-turned-talk show host MICHAEL EISNER he was just tired and joking when he sat on TV presenter ROSIE O'DONNELL's lap and seemed to be drunk after a night out with GEORGE CLOONEY.
He told Eisner, "I was a little groggy and I said, 'I think it was the seventh limoncello that got me,' but I was joking... That was apparent to everybody."
But even Clooney was caught out, admitting his pal seemed to be the worse for wear during his appearance on The View.
