DENSMORE SALUTES NEW DOORS MOVIE DIRECTOR

Former THE DOORS drummer JOHN DENSMORE is urging fans to watch TOM DICILLO's new band documentary WHEN YOU'RE STRANGE - because it's the most telling account of the group's rise and bandmate JIM MORRISON's fall.
Densmore recently saw the film, culled from hundreds of hours of rare footage, at the Berlin Film Festival in Germany - and he thinks DiCillo has done a wonderful job.
The film will now be re-edited to allow for new narration, recorded by Doors fan Johnny Depp, before it's international cinematic release - and Densmore can't wait for fans to see the finished product.
He tells music magazine Mojo, "I got a little teary about some of those innocent shots of Jim at the beginning (of the film).
"I think Tom's film shows a little bit more about all four of us. And it shows Jim in the beginning, his innocence and shyness and everything, and I love seeing that - that's the Jim I knew."
And Densmore insists the most telling part of the movie comes as he reveals just how close The Doors came to reforming just before Morrison's death in Paris, France in 1971.
He adds, "He asked how (album) L.A. Woman was doing and I said, 'Great'. I told him that Love Her Madly was the single and that they (record company) wanted a second single.
"He said, 'Well, maybe I'll come back.'"
