DENISE RICHARDS DEFENDS PARENTING

Denise Richards insists she is a responsible parent and not exploiting her daughters by allowing them to feature on her reality TV show.

Denise Richards has blasted suggestions she is "exploiting" her children.

The actress has come under fire for allowing Lola, four, and five-year-old Sam - her children with ex-husband Charlie Sheen - to appear in her reality TV show 'Denise Richards: It's Complicated' but she insists the attacks are unfounded.

She said: "Everyone is so judgmental when it comes to raising kids: if you breastfeed or not, feed them only organic foods. The bottom line is, I'm not exploiting my children. They are only on screen for about a minute here and there. The show isn't about them."

"I get to incorporate them into the show - which means I can take them to school as part of my job. How many single working moms can say that?"

Denise says she intends to keep a close eye on her daughters are they are growing up - and admits her dad went to extreme lengths to check up on her.

She explained: "As a parent now, it's harder to keep tabs on our children, but I will be vigilant.

"When we were teenagers, my dad used to tap our phone. He worked for the phone company, so he had all the equipment."
