DENCH INJURED IN DINNER ACCIDENT

DAME JUDI DENCH is nursing injured hands after they were slashed open on broken plates at a dinner party.
The star's left hand was swathed in dressing and her fingers covered in bandages while she spoke onstage at the Cheltenham Literature Festival in the U.K. on Saturday (10Oct09).
But her Notes On A Scandal director Sir Richard Eyre has downplayed the accident, which occurred after the star had enjoyed a meal at his home.
He explains, "Judi characteristically was getting up with a large pile of plates after dinner and she slipped on her way to the dishwasher and cut her hand in a very, very dramatic way."
