Actor BENICIO DEL TORO has come clean about a teenage prank that forced a California couple to flee their home in fear.
Reports have suggested the Oscar winner went too far with a practical joke and convinced the victims of a robbery he was the thief over the phone - and he would be striking again.
Del Toro has rarely spoken about the controversy, but opens up in the new issue of Rolling Stone magazine.
After initially stating, "Don't believe everything you read," the Traffic star reveals, "Yeah, OK, I guess I did do that... I was in college."
The publication claims the couple Del Toro harassed became so worried about a second robbery, they moved.
