DEFENCE SUBPOENA MADAM TO SPECTOR TRIAL

LATEST: Music producer PHIL SPECTOR's defence team has subpoenaed a convicted Hollywood madam to testify at his murder trial, suggesting a change in tactics. During opening statements last month (APR07), Spector's attorneys told the jury they planned to rely on forensic evidence and would not cast "aspersions" as "it's not right". However, the defence is now calling on Jody 'Babydol' Gibson to appear at the Los Angeles trial. Gibson's memoirs, Secrets Of A Hollywood Super Madam, detail the time she sent a tall, blonde call girl called 'Alana' to see a Texas politician in the city's Bel-Air Hotel. She writes in the book: "Unfortunately, this gal would make headlines in the news years later after being murdered in the home of a wealthy record producer." At Gibson's 2000 trial her 'trick book', containing handwritten phone and payment logs, was used as evidence. It listed a call girl named as 'Alana' and 'Lara Cl'. Spector is accused of the fatal shooting of actress Lana Clarkson at his Alhambra, California home in February 2003. He has pleaded not guilty and claims Clarkson committed suicide.
