DARREN HAYES DENIES RACIST ATTACK

LATEST: Singer DARREN HAYES has denied racially attacking a waiter at a Thai restaurant in London. The former Savage Garden star handed himself into a police station after a complaint was made by a staff member at the Busaba Eathai in Soho on 22 July (07). He was arrested and released on bail - but the Australian's solicitor claims Hayes "strenuously denies" the allegations and is "deeply upset", adding, "Darren is unable to comment to any extent as the incident is presently under investigation by the police, with whom he has co-operated fully. "Anyone who knows Darren will recognise that the particular nature of the allegation is totally abhorrent to him and contrary to everything for which he has stood."
