DARKNESS RETURN WITH NEW NAME
British rockers THE DARKNESS are staging a return to the music scene with a new name and singer.
Previous frontman and lead vocalist JUSTIN HAWKINS quit the group in October (06) after successfully overcoming his drink and drug problems in rehab, and prompted speculation the band had been dropped by their label Atlantic records.
However, the three remaining members of the rock act have announced they've begun work recording a new album.
The material will be released by the band under a different name and bassist RICHIE EDWARDS will take over as singer.
He says, "It's finally happened, the big red record button has been pressed and we've officially started our album."
Edwards joined the band after original bassist FRANKIE POULLAIN was sacked in 2005.
