DANIEL CRAIG'S FAN FEAR
Daniel Craig has hired round-the-clock security to protect him while rehearsing for Broadway play 'A Steady Rain' because he is scared of his fans.
Daniel Craig is petrified of his New York fans.
The 41-year-old star is so terrified of being approached by over-zealous enthusiasts while he is rehearsing for his role in Broadway show 'A Steady Rain' he has hired a security team to ensure he is safe at all time.
A source told the New York Daily News newspaper: "Everybody thinks it's funny because the truth is, Daniel rarely gets approached by the public in the street and at restaurants - especially now that he has the huge handlebar moustache for this role."
Daniel's co-star Hugh Jackman is less worried, and has not asked for any bodyguards.
'A Steady Rain' debuts on September 29, and sees Daniel and Hugh play policemen whose friendship is put under strain.
Another source explained: "Security and secrecy around the show are so tight that Jackman and Craig are rehearsing at a secret location outside the city."
Daniel is staying at a $38,000-a-month apartment while preparing for the show.
This is not the first time the 'James Bond' actor's hardman credentials have been called into question.
In 2005, he was criticised for wearing a life jacket and looking sea sick when he was unveiled as the new British spy during a boat trip on London's Thames river.
His father Tim Wroughton-Craig insisted: "Daniel is a hard lad - you wouldn't want to meet him in a dark street. Is he a wimp? No, I wouldn't like to call him that to his face. He can look after himself all right."
