DANGERFIELD'S WIDOW SUES OVER HOME FOOTAGE
RODNEY DANGERFIELD's widow is suing over home footage of the legendary comedian.
Joan Dangerfield has filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles County Superior Court over the use of a videotape that is intended to be shown at next year's (08) Sundance Film Festival.
The late funnyman, who died in 2004 at the age of 82, was filmed during his later years by his former friend David Permut - but Joan is objecting to the footage being made public.
In her lawsuit against Permut, she claims the 200 hours of footage contains material that is "highly private, extremely sensitive and very personal" and "was never intended to be made available for viewing by the public."
Joan claims she has joint rights over the material and is seeking court orders barring Permut from using the footage until the dispute can be settled through arbitration.
