DALTREY WANTS HELP SONGWRITING
THE WHO rocker ROGER DALTREY is appealing to budding songwriters to send in their tracks - because he's struggling to come up with fresh material for a new solo album.
The veteran star is preparing to embark on his first solo tour of North America in more than 20 years, and he reveals he's keen to release another CD, a follow-up to 1992's Rocks in the Head and the compilation albums Martyrs & Madmen (1997) and 2005's Moonlighting: The Anthology.
But Daltrey is having trouble with the task at hand and is giving wannabe lyricists the chance to shine.
He says, "I think I've got one more really good album in me. I'm working on ideas. There's whole new dimensions to come out of me, I think.
"It's finding the material, but the way I always feel is there must be an enormous amount of really talented songwriters out there who can't sing, so please send your songs."
