DALTREY ON THE HUNT FOR A CHARITY SUCCESSOR

Campaigning rocker ROGER DALTREY is hunting for a musician to take over his role as organiser of the Teenage Cancer Trust Charity concerts.
The Who frontman has been planning the annual fundraiser at London's Royal Albert Hall since 2000, but reveals the job is getting harder and harder each year.
He wants to find someone younger and more energetic to replace him.
Daltrey recently told the BBC, "I would love to find someone from a younger generation to take over from me. It does take an awful lot of energy. I call it my yearly breakdown."
And Stereophonics frontman Kelly Jones reveals he and Oasis star Noel Gallagher have both been approached to take Daltrey's place.
Jones says, "He's asked me and Noel a couple of times to our faces. If you're in a band and you can help people who are worse off, it's not really much to ask for. But it's a big job and we're like, 'Come on Roger, you'd do it a lot better than us', and he carries on doing it.
"I think he does get a bit embarrassed - that might not be the right word - but I think he does know that he's pestering people all the time to do it, but good on him. I think somebody does need to pester people to do stuff like this, and if he's the one doing it, then good on him".
But Jones admits he would consider the job, one day: "It depends how much time it involves. I think it's an important thing for somebody to do."
