CYRUS BEATS SUGARLAND TO THE TOP
MILEY CYRUS has beaten country stars SUGARLAND to the top of the U.S. album charts in what has become the most contested Billboard battle of the year.
Teen sensation Cyrus scores her second number one album with Breakout after claiming 371,000 first-week sales - just over 50,000 more than Sugarland's Love On The Inside.
The soundtrack to movie musical Mamma Mia! enjoyed a sales surge, but it wasn't enough to lift them off the number three spot on the new countdown.
Kid Rock's Rock `n' Roll Jesus and Lil Wayne's Tha Carter III round out the new top five. Last week's number one, Nas' Untitled, slips to eight.
