CURTIS: 'SIXTH WIFE SAVED MY LIFE'
Veteran actor TONY CURTIS credits his sixth wife with dragging him back from the brink after a bout of pneumonia left him near death.
The illness in 2006 left the 83 year old star so weak and delirious, he had visions of his brother Julius - who died 70 years before.
And Curtis insists only the presence of his wife, 37-year-old Jill Vandenberg Curtis, saved his life.
He tells the National Enquirer, "Her caring for me is the only reason I am able to sit here and talk to you. She showed me what a marriage could be - how to care for each other in a very simplistic way. Jill saved my life."
The episode forced Curtis to think about what happens to him when he does pass away - and he now has a plan for his remains: "I may have them take my ashes and spread them all over Las Vegas."
