CURTIS BLAMES CALIFORNIANS FOR WILDFIRE DISASTER
Actress JAMIE LEE CURTIS has slammed the residents of southern California, blaming them for the wildfire disaster. The Trading Places star is not among those directly affected by the tragedy, which has cost 1,430 families there homes so far, but she's shattered by the loss of lives and property. And she has a tough message for her fellow southern Californians: "This is not an act of God!" The angry actress fumes, "We live in southern California, we build houses where we shouldn't build them, we're living in the worst drought this country's ever had and we pretend that we're not and we water our lawns; talk about ultimate denial. "We've done this, we've created all of this... This isn't an act of God, this is an act of man."
