CRUZ BRAVED INJURIES TO FILM NINE

PENELOPE CRUZ suffered for her art in upcoming movie-musical NINE - dangerous physical stunts left her hands bleeding.
The actress stars alongside Nicole Kidman, Judi Dench and Kate Hudson in the film and was hoisted up in the air for one particularly trying scene.
And Cruz's blood, sweat and tears went into nailing the take, according to director Rob Marshall.
He says, "She'd be the last one on the soundstage working and I'd have to say, 'Penelope, it's over!'
"In the middle of the number she does all this work with ropes, swinging on them, and she had formed calluses and her hands were bleeding. We told her she would have to wear gloves but she was like, 'No, no, I have to feel it.'
"We finished it and she was in tears, saying, 'I loved every second. I want to install ropes in my bedroom so I don't have to let go of it.'"
