CRUISE STUDIO UA LANDS CASH WINDFALL
TOM CRUISE's film fortunes have just been given a big boost - bosses financial firm Merrill Lynch have handed over $500 million (GBP250 million) to the movie star's United Artists company.
The news of the agreement comes on the same day sources claim Deutsche Bank are rethinking their interest in underwriting a $1 billion film-finance pact for film studio MGM.
The UA financing covers the production of 15 to 18 films over the next five years, according to New York Post reports.
The studio is run by Cruise and his production partner Paula Wagner.
