CROSBY LEARNS NOT TO TAKE AWARDS TOO SERIOUSLY FROM HIS DAD
Rocker DAVID CROSBY learned no to take awards too seriously from his father, who used his Oscar as a doorstop.
Crosby's dad, Floyd, won a Best Cinematography Academy Award in 1931 for his work on the film Tabu, but refused to give his statuette a mantle of honour at the family home.
Like father, like son, Crosby also refuses to make a big deal about the trophies he wins.
He tells Rolling Stone magazine, "My dad... taught me a lesson about taking that stuff too seriously a long time ago. He had an Oscar, one of the first ones they gave out. He used it as a doorstop."
