CRIPPLED JEWEL PULLS OUT OF DANCING WITH THE STARS

Singer JEWEL has confirmed she's hanging up her dancing shoes after fracturing bones in both her legs while rehearsing for U.S. TV show DANCING WITH THE STARS.
The newlywed was initially diagnosed with tendinitis after collapsing in the dance studio, but she's now withdrawing from the series, which begins next week (beg09Mar09), after learning she has a fractured tibia in both legs.
She says, "When the doctors told me my injuries were so severe that I couldn’t walk, let alone compete, I was devastated that I couldn’t continue the show."
Reports suggest former Playboy Playmate Holly Madison will take her place, but show bosses have yet to confirm this.
She's not the only celebrity quitting the show because of injury - U.S. TV host Nancy O’Dell has limped off with a torn meniscus, and requires surgery.
Jewel will still have an invested interest in the programme - her husband Ty Murray is among the contestants still taking part.
