COX'S FLYING FEAR

Movie star BRIAN COX is terrified of flying after narrowly escaping death in an horrific plane crash forty years ago. The Emmy-award winning Scottish actor was set to fly to London for a career-making audition with the late SIR LAURENCE OLIVER when Oliver cancelled at the last minute. Cox explains, "I remember sitting in the pub thinking maybe I should still go, and I got drunk, before concluding that I couldn't be bothered." The next day he opened the papers to find that his intended flight had crashed, killing everyone on board.
