COSTNER KEEN TO PAY TRIBUTE TO DEAD COUNTRY FAN

KEVIN COSTNER is keen to return to the site of a Canadian music festival tragedy - to play a part in a benefit for the country fan who lost her life there.
The actor and his band Modern West were just about to perform at the Big Valley Jamboree in Alberta on Saturday (01Aug09) when a tornado brought the stage down, killing festival-goer Donna Moore, 35, and leaving 80 others injured.
Costner escorted two of his crew members, who were hurt in the incident, to a nearby hospital, and checked on fans while he was there - and now the Oscar winner is planning a return to Alberta.
His publicist, Arnold Robinson, says, "In the event that there is any type of benefit to support the victims, he would hope to be a part of it."
Country singer Billy Currington was onstage when the incident happened and he and his bass player, Alex Stevens, were injured and hospitalised.
Stevens was pinned under the wreckage for 30 minutes while crews worked to free him.
