COREY TAYLOR SCARED BY SUCCESS
Slipknot singer Corey Taylor has confessed he thought about killing himself at the height of the band's fame in 2004.
Corey Taylor contemplated suicide at the height of Slipknot's fame.
The singer began drinking heavily and fell into a state of depression when the 'Wait and Bleed' group became successful in 2004 and admits he considered jumping from a hotel balcony.
He explained to Kerrang! magazine: "I came very close to throwing myself off an eight-storey balcony at the Hyatt on Sunset. It was one of those things where you wake up and realise that something's not working.
"I'd turned into a person who I didn't like and who I didn't respect. It started from that day - I decided not to drink anymore. I decided no more lies, no more c**p.
"I had to deal with a lot of s**t. There was a lot of introspection. I remember one show when I was sitting in the dressing room, holding my mask, and I just had a mental breakdown."
"I was so unhappy. Not about the band but about everything."
