COOL LIST WINNER PLANS TATTOO

Frank Carter, winner of this year's influential NME Cool List, has revealed his plans to get a tattoo designed to antagonise the music magazine.

The Gallows frontman followed in the footsteps of Pete Doherty and Gossip's Beth Ditto by topping the magazine's list of who's hot in the world of music, but plans to rubbish the honour with a new piece of body art.

"I've gotta get a 'F**k The NME' tattoo", he told XFM. "I did say if they put me number one I'd get it done, 'cos they'd probably think that was cool and that would cement my place for next year."

Asked how he managed to top the list, the Watford youngster remained as confused as much of the music world.

"I have no idea, I seriously don't know," he said. "We're a f**king hard core punk band, but underneath… we're still the same dudes that we've always been. I sit at home I drink tea, go on tour and hang out with my girlfriend and my boys.

"I'm honoured that they have put me above all of those other people cause there's a ton of people on that list that I think are a lot cooler than me that's for sure. But I don't necessarily think I deserve it."

Gallows' new single Staring At The Rude Bois, featuring Lethal Bizzle, is released on November 19th.
