CONVICTED SPECTOR IN PRISON'S 'SPECIAL NEEDS FACILITY'
Disgraced music mogul PHIL SPECTOR is spending his first months in jail with former gang members who would be killed if they were regular prison inmates.
The convicted murderer, 69, has been assigned to a “sensitive needs facility” in California’s largest state prison Corcoran, where he'll join more than 6,900 special needs inmates.
Prison boss Stephen Smith tells TV show Access Hollywood that the producer's notoriety was a factor in the decision to move Spector to the secure housing area, where typical inmates need protection from other prisoners.
Spector is serving 19 years to life for the fatal shooting of actress Lana Clarkson at his Alhambra, California home in 2003.
