CONTROL LEADS AT BRITISH FILM AWARDS
A biopic of the JOY DIVISION singer IAN CURTIS has received ten nominations at this year's British Independent Film Awards.
CONTROL looks at the life of the group's frontman who committed suicide in 1980 and stars newcomer SAM RILEY, who can also be seen in Stardust alongside MICHELLE PFIFFER.
Riley is up for best actor, while SAMANTHA MORTON has been nominated for best supporting actress and Anton Corbijn is in the running for best director. The movie is also in the category for best film.
WHEN DID YOU LAST SEE YOUR FATHER? has also received its fair share of nominations, seven in total, including best actor for JIM BROADBENT and best supporting actor for COLIN FIRTH.
Founder Elliot Grove told the BBC: "It is my hope that British film-makers, whose work these awards were set up to honour, continue to entertain, astound, delight and inspire and take their rightful place at the forefront of international independent cinema."
