CONNOLLY'S 'VICTIM' TO DROP ASSAULT COMPLAINT

Actor KEVIN CONNOLLY's alleged assault victim has changed his mind about pressing charges against the ENTOURAGE star - hours after filing a police report with Los Angeles cops. Phillip Roby claims he was attacked by Connolly and his pals at Los Angeles' Villa nightclub on Saturday (09Feb08), when the TV star is said to have jumped over a table and punched him in the head. Roby then lodged a formal police complaint for battery against Connolly on Monday (11Feb08) afternoon - but a few hours later, claimed he had asked the L.A. County Sheriff's Department to drop the charges. According to website TMZ.com, Roby told cops "never mind", before saying, "Look at me, I'm fine." But police admit they have so far only received a call from a man claiming to be Roby asking to withdraw the complaint - and have yet to officially drop the investigation into the alleged assault because the victim has to appeal in person. However, a representative for Connolly insists the accusations are false, saying, "There's nothing to it."
