CONMAN REFUSES TO APOLOGISE FOR HEATH LEDGER SCAM

A conman who allegedly posed as the father of recently deceased actor Heath Ledger has refused to apologise, the Sun has reported.

Wayne Scott, 35, allegedly contacted John Travolta and Tom Cruise days after Australian actor Ledger died of an accidental overdose.

Mr Scott is accused of asking Travolta to pay for an air fare to New York and tricking Cruise into sympathising with his loss.

However, Mr Scott has claimed that he can not remember contacting the stars.

"I can't talk about the Heath Ledger thing," he said.

"I don't remember doing it. It may not have been me. I'm not apologising for something I can't remember."

Mr Scott pleaded guilty last week to posing as the actor Dwayne Johnson, known previously as The Rock, to obtain Premiership football tickets.

He also admitted to tricking Manchester United manager, Sir Alex Ferguson, into writing a letter to his 'dying' son.

"I am genuinely sorry for that", he said afterwards.

Mr Scott is due to be sentenced in June.
