COMPUTER GAME ADDICT TINCHY STRYDER

British rapper Tinchy Stryder has revealed he got his unusual name because he was obsessed with computer games.

Tinchy Stryder is named after a short computer game.

The 'Number 1' rapper gained his unusual moniker because of his diminutive frame and adoration for classic video games.

He explained to Loaded magazine: "I'm small man, for my age. I'm 5ft 5ins. Stryder came from a computer game on the Sega Mega Drive. I'd like to be taller, but I'm not."

However, the 22-year-old grime rapper hasn't always been known as Tinchy and was given another nickname when he was younger.

He said: "Everyone had a name when we were on pirate radio, growing up. When I was first on the scene, everyone used to have a tag. But in those days, Dizzee used to call me 'Tantrum'. He must have thought I threw tantrums or something."

Tinchy insists he has an easy-going nature and would be happy to appear on a reality TV show.

He added: "I'd be up for doing 'Celebrity Big Brother'. I think I'd get used to the cameras.

"I'd try and mix it up - I wouldn't do the tasks on purpose. I'm easy, man, I've not got any bad habits, so I'm not worried."
