COLLINS TO PERFORM HIS FIRST GIG IN TWO YEARS

Scottish singer EDWYN COLLINS is to perform live for the first time since he fell victim to a life-threatening condition in 2005. The former Orange Juice frontman, who scored a huge solo hit in 1995 with single A Girl Like You, had a brain haemorrhage two years ago. But he is "back and raring to go" and will perform at the BBC's Electric Proms in London later this month (28Oct07). He says, "How exciting to be in my old world again, with my band and among friends."
