COLLETTE PRAISES GORE'S LIVE EARTH PLANS

Actress TONI COLLETTE has praised AL GORE's campaign to promote environmental awareness through music at this weekend's (07Jul07) Live Earth gigs. The star will help to kick off the Sydney, Australia leg of the global "green" event on Saturday with her band Finish - and the star is hopeful the worldwide concerts will get Gore's message across. She says, "It's not a time to be ignorant about what is happening to the planet. "It can be a great pressure, but the more people know, the more they will hopefully feel they have a responsibility to the planet. Certainly Al Gore's film An Inconvenient Truth spoke to a lot of people and if the message can get out in any shape or form that's a good thing. Music can create unity."
