COLE'S UNDERGROUND GYM PROJECT REJECTED

GIRLS ALOUD star CHERYL COLE has been forced to scrap her lavish plans to build a gym and swimming pool underneath her mansion in England - after local authorities rejected the proposals.
The X Factor judge applied for planning permission to construct a state-of-the-art workout facility under the grounds of her sprawling estate in Surrey, southern England.
In the application, Cole claimed the project needed to be built underground as photographers would be able to fly above the property in a helicopter and take snaps of her working out and swimming.
The beauty also added that she and soccer star husband Ashley are unable to use public gyms due to the attention their presence garners.
But Surrey councillors have dismissed the bid, insisting the proposed $40,000 (£25,000) extension would be "unacceptable".
Planning officer Tara Taylor says, "The proposed swimming pool level would result in a disproportionate addition to the house, and would be unacceptable."
