COLDPLAY TALK GIRLS SUPPORT
COLDPLAY have been discussing their decision to have GIRLS ALOUD support them next year.
It was recently announced that the hugely-popular girlband will be the opening act for the band at Wembley Stadium on Friday September 18th.
Frontman Chris Martin has declared himself a fan of the girls in the past, but it seems his fellow bandmates are happy to have them on board too.
Speaking to BBC 6 Music's Steve Lamacq, drummer Will Champion said it was a joint decision, as the band wanted the shows to feel like a "real event".
"We wanted there to be a bit of variety and something that people might not expect from a Coldplay show and something that's a little bit like a mini festival. There should hopefully be another band on before that," he said.
The rest of the dates- which include Manchester's Old Trafford Cricket Ground and Glasgow's Hampden Park will see hip hop star JAY-Z provide the support.
INTERPOL, RICHARD ASHCROFT and FIONA APPLE have all opened for COLDPLAY in the past.
