COLDPLAY COME TO RESCUE OF PRIMARY SCHOOL

Grammy-award winning band COLDPLAY have stepped in to replace a school piano, after floods hit St David's School in Moreton-in-Marsh last summer.

The band came to the rescue after seeing pictures of the old piano floating around in the water-filled hall.

All of the school's instruments were ruined when water swept through the premises last July.

However, GUY BERRYMAN, who is a neighbour of one of the school's support workers, found out about the incident and reported back to his bandmates.

They provided the school with a gift of a red oak Kemble piano - worth £3,000 – which now has pride of place in the refurbished music department.

Pupils from St David's - about 20 per cent of whom have special educational needs - sent a letter of thanks to the band and intend to send photos of the piano in action.

COLDPLAY are well known for a signature piano sound which features prominently on hits like FIX YOU and THE SCIENTIST.
