COLDPLAY 'BAN CHRIS MARTIN FROM STUDIO'
Coldplay have begun working on new material without singer Chris Martin, he has revealed.
While recording a solo acoustic session for Absolute Radio breakfast host Christian O'Connell, the Yellow star joked he had been banned from studio sessions.
Martin explained the band received a letter from producer Brian Eno regarding their follow-up to fourth album Viva La Vida of Death And All His Friends.
"The letter was to all of us he said that he thought the last album was OK but it could have been much better," Martin said.
"He said that he still wanted to work with us on the next album but that I was banned from the studio! He said that it would be better without me for the first two weeks - 'you can do better without the singer'!"
The frontman added: "It has turned out to be a good idea though because the band's been free to try out loads of weird things without me getting in the way."
The singer played Viva La Vida, Life in Technicolour, The Scientist and Violet Hill in Absolute Radio session.
