COLDPLAY AND ADELE CONFIRMED FOR NEIL DIAMOND TRIBUTE

Grammy nominees Coldplay and Adele are among the artists set to honour Neil Diamond at a gala concert next year.

The British acts will take to the stage at the MusiCares person of the year show at the Los Angeles Convention Centre on February 6th, held to pay tribute to the Sweet Caroline star.

Other artists confirmed for the concert - held during Grammy week - include Tim McGraw, Josh Groban, Foo Fighters and Jennifer Hudson.

The annual fundraising event - which recognised soul legend Aretha Franklin earlier this year - will celebrate Diamond's musical career and philanthropic work, which has most recently involved donating funds to the Hurricane Ike relief fund in Texas.

A 12-time Grammy nominee and Oscar winner in 1973, Diamond scored his first ever US number one album this year with Home Before Dark.

He also performed on the Pyramid Stage at the Glastonbury Festival.

The MusiCares concert held in his honour will see each of the above acts - and others - covering a Diamond song.
