CLOONEY'S LEATHERHEADS FALLS A PLACE IN CONFIRMED BOX OFFICE FIGURES
GEORGE CLOONEY's LEATHERHEADS took another hit on Monday (07Apr08) when the American football comedy dropped a place to three on the U.S. box office chart.
Leatherheads, which Clooney directs and stars in alongside Renee Zellweger, was estimated to have debuted at number two with weekend (04-06Apr08) takings of $13.5 million (GBP6.75 million).
But the estimates were incorrect, and the $58 million (GBP29 million) budget Leatherheads has now fallen to a disappointing three with confirmed takings of just $12.68 million (GBP6.34 million).
Gambling film 21 remains America's most popular film, with a $15.34 million (GBP7.67 million) second weekend take, while Jodie Foster's family movie Nim's Island replaces Leatherheads at two with $13.21 million (GBP6.6 million)
