CLOONEY'S GERMAN NIGHTMARE
THE GOOD GERMAN director MIKE NICHOLS had to double up as a dialect coach, because the expert hired for the movie couldn't speak German.
The coach was fired after the film was shown to German speakers and they couldn't understand what was being said.
Star GEORGE CLOONEY reveals German-born Nichols ended up helping him perfect the language and accent at the very last minute.
He says, "It was brutal. We had a dialect coach on the set who apparently didn't speak any German. We didn't know. He would say, 'That was good.'
"So, for dubbing, Mike was my dialect coach. He would say, 'OK, say this.' Every word of it was from Mike Nichols."
