CLOONEY THANKS HIS DAD FOR ADVICE
Hollywood heart-throb GEORGE CLOONEY has hailed his father, TV host NICK CLOONEY, for warning him the media will switch from loving to hating to loving you.
George became a media darling in the 1990s playing DOCTOR ROSS in ER, but endured negative press when he chose to speak out against Republicans and US PRESIDENT GEORGE W BUSH following the September 11th (01) attacks.
However, after winning an Oscar earlier this year (06) for SYRIANA and receiving critical acclaim for his movie GOOD NIGHT, AND GOOD LUCK, George is back in the media's 'good books'.
He tells the New York Daily News, "I think the secret is always to remember - and my father (believed) this - that over a period of time, people are going to be incredibly kind to you, as well as incredibly cruel to you. And they'll probably be overly kind and overly cruel.
"So you have to find a way to define yourself, and not worry about the rest of it."
