CLOONEY TAKES UP POLITICAL BATON
Ageing Hollywood star and ex-ER heartthrob GEORGE CLOONEY has arrived in Egypt following the start of his campaign in the Darfur area.
CLOONEY's crusade has taken him to the Sudan to begin talks with Egypt's foreign minister, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, in order to help bring relief to the war-torn region.
Around 200,000 people are thought to have died in the Darfur region since rebels took arms against the government in 2003 – and CLOONEY has been trying to find some way to increase protection for the millions driven from their homes by the fighting.
But CLOONEY isn't the only US actor with political aspirations. Former Baywatch legend and office email phenomenon DAVID HASSELHOFF has admitted he is harbouring ambitions of emulating TONY BLAIR.
Speaking to Heat magazine, THE HOFF said he met the British prime minister recently and told him: "I admire your attitude, your morals and what you stand for. You remind me a lot of myself."
The former KNIGHT RIDER star added that he would consider a career in politics, with his first laws being "respect" and to "get on with your neighbours".
