CLOONEY TAKES THE BLAME FOR DEVITO'S DRINKING
Hollywood heartthrob George Clooney has said he will take the blame for DeVito's drunken chat show antics as he found it hilarious.
DeVito appeared intoxicated on US chat show The View last Wednesday after what Clooney describes as a night of drinking with him in a restaurant.
The actor was on the show promoting his new festive family comedy Deck the Halls but was happier to rant about US president George W. Bush while slurring his words. It was the lemon liqueur, Limon cello, which caused the outburst, says Clooney.
Oscar winner Clooney told USA today: "Danny is a grown man. I know not to drink too much of it, because it is really strong. Danny kept going after I was done. He clearly got more hammered than I did."
However, the Ocean's eleven actor didn't mind being blamed for DeVito's performance, saying: "I don't think anyone took great offense at it. He is one of the funny drunks in the world as opposed to the angry, mean ones. It actually, truly made me laugh until I cried when I watched him. So I'll take the heat."
