CLOONEY OFFERS TO LEAVE OBAMA ALONE

Hollywood star GEORGE CLOONEY has offered to support BARACK OBAMA's 2008 U.S. presidential campaign - by staying away from the politician. Politically-minded Clooney is afraid of damaging Democrat Obama's chances of getting into The White House. He tells Time magazine, "I like Barack Obama a lot. I've spent some time with him. "I've actually had the conversation with him saying, 'Look, I'll give you whatever support you need - including staying completely away from you.' "Actors have done a lot of damage to candidates lately. My father ran for Congress in 2004, and it was 'Hollywood vs. the Heartland!' My father was Hollywood."
