CLEESE TURNS BACK TIME WITH REJUVENATED WATCH ADS
Comedy legend JOHN CLEESE is turning back the clock - the funnyman will appear in an updated version of his beloved 1970s Accurist watch adverts.
The Monty Python star, who turns 70 on Tuesday (27Oct09), will rejuvinate the brand's advertising campaign, which last appeared during TV ad breaks over 30 years ago.
In the original series, Cleese was seen selling the watches in a series of bizarre locations.
The commericial, which used the famous "Accur-ankle, Accu-wrist!" catchphrase, was a hit with consumers - and was voted one of the world's best 10 adverts by U.S. TV host Johnny Carson.
The new take on the ads will hit TV screens in time for Christmas (09).
