CLARKSON CANCELS CONCERTS IN MINNESOTA AND CANADA

KELLY CLARKSON fans in Minnesota were left disappointed on Sunday (30Aug09) after the singer cancelled her headline slot at the state fair just two hours before she was due on stage.
The former American Idol winner arrived at the event to perform but pulled out following her soundcheck, when a doctor diagnosed her with "vocal issues."
Fair entertainment director Renee Pearson says, "She did her soundcheck and then saw a medical doctor. Then her tour manager and I had a discussion. Ultimately, it was her decision."
Rocker Eric Hutchinson, who was due to open for Clarkson, stepped up and extended his set to fill the headline slot.
Over 8,000 ticket holders have been offered refunds.
The show in Minnesota is not the only one to be cancelled by Clarkson - she has also scrapped plans to perform in Kelowna, Canada on 22 November (09). The date clashes with the American Music Awards ceremony, which will take place in Los Angeles. The star put the cancellation down to a "scheduling conflict".
