Former GUNS N' ROSES guitarist GILBY CLARKE has undergone a second round of surgery to repair his shattered legs following a motorcycle crash last month (Jan10).
The rocker was involved in a serious collision in Sherman Oaks, California on 10 January (10) when a car turned in front of him, sending him smashing into the side of the vehicle. The other driver allegedly failed to stop after the accident.
Clarke went under the knife shortly afterwards as doctors moved to repair three bones in his left foot and ankle, and a broken bone in his right foot, and he was back in hospital last week (beg01Feb10) to have a metal rod and plates fitted.
He is now recovering at home and is hoping to begin physiotherapy to help him walk again in four weeks time.
In a post on his official website, he writes, "My 2nd surgery was last week & I'm home from the hospital now. They put in a rod, plate & lots of screws. Everything is healing well, it's a good thing I was healthy going in. In a month I can start trying to walk. Once again, all the support from my friends has made the bad days, good."
