Eric Clapton has ruled out another Cream reunion, insisting the members of the rock supertrio have parted ways amicably.
The guitar great reteamed with Ginger Baker and Jack Bruce for shows in London and New York in 2005 and fans have been hoping for another get-together ever since - but that isn't going to happen.
Clapton says, "I think I was clear that I don't think we need to go there again... I think we've gone as far as we could with that."
But he insists, "I'd never say never" - a comment which will please Bruce, who told Billboard.com magazine last year (08), "I think there might be a chance of some more (gigs). I would like to do some more, ’cause I enjoyed it. It was very emotional. I would like another shot at it."
Meanwhile, Clapton has revealed the 2005 Cream reunion almost included his Blind Faith bandmate Steve Winwood, who is currently on tour with the guitar great.
He tells Rolling Stone magazine, "It was not a favourable idea with the other two guys... We would have had to start a new band with a new name."
