Cindy Crawford is "really scared" of plastic surgery.

The 44-year-old former supermodel has had Botox and other anti-ageing treatments in the past, but is too nervous to go under the knife for a more invasive procedure.

She told Ladies' Home Journal magazine: "I've tried Botox, but it scares me. Plastic surgery is really scary, but as long as you don't use these things to change your face, I think it's OK."

Despite having a few issues with her body, the mother-of-two - who posed nude for Playboy magazine in 1988 - insists she is happier than ever with her figure and looks.

She said: "If I put on a few pounds, it goes straight to my butt. I'm sexy but I'm not intimidating. I do have cellulite.

"So much of your life you spend trying to prove yourself, trying to make things happen, trying to get somewhere else. But then you get in your late 30s and 40s and realise life is pretty amazing right in front of you, if you can just be present in it."

In the past, Cindy - who is married to Rande Gerber - has claimed she is too busy to worry about wrinkles.

She said: "To be standing in front of a mirror and to moan, 'Oh my God, I've just found another wrinkle!' That's embarrassing. I don't have time for that."
