CILMI 'SADDENED' BY AUSTRALIAN BUSH FIRES

Pop star GABRIELLA CILMI was lucky to escape the Australian bush fires - she lives just 20 minutes away from the disaster.
The Sweet About Me star hails from the southern city of Melbourne, where devastating bush fires this month (Feb09) claimed more than 180 lives.
She admits she was shocked by the horrific events - and has expressed her disgust at the possibility the fires may have been started deliberately.
Cilmi says, "I'm truly saddened by what has happened and is still happening in Victoria. It's not far from my home - only about 20 minutes.
"I know people who had to be evacuated and the fact that people might have actually started the fires is disgusting. It's so sad that these people had no warning and have lost their lives, homes and places of work with farms and vineyards being wiped out. My heart goes out to them."
