CHOU IS A TRIPLE WINNER AT GOLDEN MELODY AWARDS
Taiwanese pop star JAY CHOU was the toast of the Golden Melody Awards in his native country on Saturday (27Jun09) after scooping three prizes at the Far East's equivalent of the Grammys.
The singer took home the accolades for Best Mandarin Male Singer, Song of the Year for Fragrant Rice, and Best Music Video for Mr. Magic.
Hong Kong's Eason Chan was also the winner of a top prize at the 20th annual ceremony, claiming the Best Album award for Don't Want to Let Go.
And there was more triumph for Taiwan - local singer Sandee Chan was hailed as Best Mandarin Female Singer, while Jody Chiang snagged the audience vote for most popular songs in the past two decades.
