CHER WILL BOSS AROUND AGUILERA IN BURLESQUE
CHER has finalised negotiations to play CHRISTINA AGUILERA's nightclub boss in upcoming movie musical BURLESQUE.
The 63-year-old Oscar-winning actress has been a rumoured favourite to play the pop star's boss in the project - starring 28-year-old Aguilera as a small-town girl-turned-burlesque dancer.
The film, which marks Aguilera's first starring role on the big screen, will be directed by actor/filmmaker Steve Antin, brother of choreographer Robin Antin, who founded the burlesque troupe-turned-girl band The Pussycat Dolls.
It is also the first time Cher will sing in a movie in which she's been cast to star.
Movie studio Screen Gems' president Clint Culpepper tells Variety, "She brings a soulfulness and gravitas to this character that will ground the story. The only person who was more excited than I am is Christina."
